Community Board
The Cresard Community Board is a public space for Discussions, Feature Requests and Q&A. Reading is open to everyone. To post, comment, or vote you verify your email once, no password required.
Reading posts
The Community Board at /community is fully public. You can browse all Discussions, Feature Requests, and Q&A posts without signing in or providing any information. Each post has its own SEO-indexed page at /community/[slug] that you can share or link to directly.
No account is needed to read the community. Only posting, commenting, and voting require email verification.
Getting access to interact
To post, comment on a post, or upvote content, you need to verify your email address once using a magic link. There is no password to create or remember.
How to verify
- 1
Click "Get access"
On the Community Board, click the "Get access" button in the top area of the page.
- 2
Enter your email address
Type your email address in the modal that appears and submit the form.
- 3
Check your inbox
You will receive an email from Cresard containing a secure magic link. Check your spam folder if it does not arrive within a minute.
- 4
Click the magic link
Clicking the link in the email verifies your identity and returns you to the Community Board as an authenticated user.
- 5
Start participating
You can now create posts, leave comments, and vote. Your session is stored in your browser for 30 days.
Magic link expiry and session
Magic link expiry
1 hour
The magic link in your email is valid for one hour after it is sent. If it expires, go back to the Community Board and request a new one.
Session duration
30 days
Once verified, your session is stored in your browser's localStorage. You stay signed in for 30 days without needing to verify again.
Sessions are stored locally in your browser. If you clear your browser data or switch to a different browser or device, you will need to verify your email again.
Your identity on the community
Cresard never displays your email address on the Community Board. When you verify your email for the first time, a random display name is automatically generated for you, for example:
Example display names
SwiftFalcon42
BoldHawk321
LunarOtter87
This name appears on all posts and comments you make. It is assigned once and stays consistent across the board so other members can recognise your contributions, without your real identity ever being revealed.
Display names are randomly generated at the time of your first email verification and cannot be changed. Your email address is never visible to other community members.
Accessing your support tickets
If you have opened a support ticket using the same email address as your community account, you can access that ticket securely without needing the shareable URL token.
Sign into the Community Board
Verify your email via magic link to establish your community session.
Navigate to your ticket
Go to the ticket page; your community session is automatically checked.
Access granted without a token
If the ticket's email matches your community account, you're authenticated. No shareable link needed.
This is the most secure way to access your ticket: your session is verified server-side and the shareable URL token is never needed. Other people cannot view your ticket, even if they know your ticket ID.
Applying for jobs
Job applications on the Careers page require a verified Cresard Community account. This ties every application to a real, verified identity. It keeps the pipeline genuine and gives you a single place to manage your profile and follow up with us afterwards.
Verify your community account
Sign in or join the Community Board with the email address you want to apply with.
Open a job and hit Apply
We automatically detect your active community session. No extra verification step.
Submit and track
Your application is linked to your account, so you always know which email and identity it was sent from.
Don't have a community account yet? Head to the Community Board, verify your email, then return to the job listing. Your session is detected automatically and you can apply right away.
Creating posts
Once verified, you can create posts in any of the three categories:
Discussion
General conversations about software, tech, or Cresard projects.
Feature Request
Suggest a new feature or improvement you would like to see.
Q&A
Ask a technical question and get answers from the community.
Adding images to posts
When creating a post, you can include an image by providing a publicly accessible image URL. Paste the direct URL to an image (ending in .png, .jpg, .webp, etc.) in the image field. The image will be displayed on the post detail page.
Images must be hosted at a publicly accessible URL. Cresard does not upload or host images on your behalf. Use services like Imgur, Cloudinary, or your own CDN.
Voting
Verified users can upvote any post to show support or agreement. Each user can vote once per post. Votes help surface the most popular Feature Requests and discussions. Your total vote count is visible on your profile page.
Your profile
Your community profile is available at /community/profile. From your profile you can:
- View all posts you have created
- See your total vote count across all posts
- Delete your account and all associated data
The avatar with your initials in the top-right corner of the Community Board opens a dropdown with two options: My Profile (goes to /community/profile) and Sign out (clears your session from the browser).
Signing out
To sign out, click your avatar in the top-right corner of the Community Board and select "Sign out". This clears your session token from localStorage. You will need to verify your email again to interact with the community after signing out.
Signing out only removes your session from the current browser. If you are signed in on multiple devices, you will need to sign out on each one separately.
Post URLs and sharing
Every post has a dedicated, SEO-indexed page at a unique URL:
Post URL format
https://cresard.com/community/[slug]
You can share this URL directly. The post is publicly readable to anyone who visits the link, even without a community account.
